H x plates were originally issued by Middlesex County Council, all x H plates are DVLA auction sales

By close of business on 24th June 1904 Middlesex County Council had registered 603 cars and 759 motorcycles.


H 1, originally issued to Sir Herbert Nield. A Barrister (and a cockney as he was born within the sound of bow bells) who in 1895 became a Middlesex County Councillor.

The plate came onto the market in 2018 after the owner (thought to be a descendent of Sir Herbert Nield) had an accident and decided to give up driving.

The plate is now owned by Tony Brown and is based in Bedfordshire.

The two Volvo's, a mid 70's 244 and a late 70's 244 were owned by Brian Heaton of Southport.

This plate is based in the Birmingham area.

1 H was sold by DVLA in 1995 for £32K. Owned by Michael Herbert of Belfast, he owned Europes largest number of KFC franchises (in excess of 175) and sold them in a deal that completed just 12 days before UK Covid lockdown of March 2020

In the very late 1990's/2000 the plate was owned by Alan Herrod of Falkirk.


4 H was sold by DVLA in 1994 for £9K


5 H was sold by DVLA in 1995 for £24K

5 H was assigned to this Ferrari 488 Spider when it was new in March 2018 and wasn't spotted until 5 years later. In that time it had covered 539 miles.
